Why your gift matters right now
Running a rescue sanctuary isn’t cheap. Every single day — come rain or shine — our animals rely on us for feed, bedding, farrier visits, worming, vaccinations and emergency vet care. As a sanctuary we don’t breed or sell animals, so every penny of our running costs has to be raised through the kindness of people like you.
This year has hit us especially hard. The prolonged heatwave scorched the paddocks and our grass has all but given up — we’re having to buy in extra hay and hard feed far earlier than usual, pushing our daily feeding costs up significantly. When the grazing fails, the bills climb fast, and the animals still need feeding three times a day.
Where your gift goes
- £5 — a bale’s worth of bedding for the stables.
- £10 — a day’s hard feed for the sheep flock when grazing is short.
- £20 — worming and routine care supplies.
- £50 — a contribution towards an emergency vet visit.
- £100 — roughly a week’s worth of bought-in hay during a drought.
